Kuwait to shut down banks on Monday
Banks will continue serving customers through digital platforms

Mubasher: Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) announced the closure of all banks effective Monday, 11 May, through to 30 May in line with the directives of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and the government’s decision to impose a full curfew starting Sunday afternoon.

The KBA emphasised that banks will continue serving their customers via seamless, secure, and advanced mobile and electronic platforms, according to a press release.

Last Friday, Kuwait announced a 20-day total curfew effective this Sunday in an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

On Saturday, the Gulf state confirmed 415 more coronavirus cases, bringing its total number of confirmed cases to 7,623.
